I tried reinstalling the latest driver from its website but no luck the problem still persist. Sorry this didn’t help. Then I tried again to see if it can connect, and yes it says “Network: My onboard ethernet port got hit by lightning recently. So it musn’t be a cable issue I believe. I have exactly the same problem. But could you fix the problem in other way yet?

Without proper drivers you might not be able to use that card with Windows 8.
