The exact message is “The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software” I tried again from scratch I already installed the LAN drivers.

Not thirstydg, but yes they do. LAN cards are not expensive, If i purchase a new one, can I disable the one on the mother board with no conflicts? However, from what I can tell, none of them use 3com ethernet onboard.

When I tried to install it it told me that it needed adaptfr following conditions on my system before I could install it. But it’s not automatically connecting with my network once the drivers are installed, which happend with all my other machines. I am just worn out on this and my son needs his computer back for his business. However, the computer is slow, slow, slow, so I still need to do some maintenance to speed it up.
