SOrry I cant be more help.
Skoop Moderator et Subscriptor Registered: If I disable my EIDE windows installed drive and try installing windows on the SATA drive, I get the F6 prompt, push F6, nothing happens, and the windows installation eventually quits, saying no drive is present on my system.
Disconnect all other drives to further minimize drive sound.
And last but not least one very important “detail” which troubled me quite a lot: I’m not sure if I’m lacking yet another needed harddrive to accomplish this, or if I just plugged things into wrong slots. I only have the Asus drivers I have download from their website as my original motherboard blew up and this Asus A8V Deluxe was bia as a replacement. I shoulda Googled before posting here.
So apparently they selectively included drivers. I had been using the wrong driver all along and there was no possible way to get it to work! Mon Nov 01, 4: For a SPAN array: Nov 10, Posts: Thanks a millions for the information.

Could it be this drive is formatted as a dynamic drive and not a basic drive. First try the VIA raif.
I have been studying a little the BAD!! When powering up, and the bios detects first the boot drive and then the data drive it calls them VIA’s.

So I had to buy a floppy drive: Without it I would have taken a sledgehammer to my motherboard. Afterwards it should be possible to access SATA devices from within Win98 after installing the drivers though I haven’t tested this.

I didn’t get the menu to install other drivers until after it loaded everything else. It’s not clear whether you are trying to install Windows or if it’s already installed. Anyway I hope this will help you daid. I have a USB keyboard.
