Of course there is still flicker, but it is unnoticable. Basically, at 60Hz 60 refreshes per second you can see the screen flickering unless ou look at it straight on, and on larger screens you can even see it then this has soemthing to do with the eye being able to pick up more “fps” at the edges of the retina than at the middle.
